Originally written for Greg Christy, a great solo Violinist and leader of the Air Force Strolling Strings for 17 years. This group played at the White House since the 1950’s, and one of their most famous photos shows the group playing for President Kennedy in the main hall with Greg Christy and others in a line near the flags.

Listen to various players interpret this arrangement. There are 3 choices. The String solos are played by Greg on Violin. The Woodwind choices are played by Jerry Rodgers on Clarinet (Marine Band master soloist), and the Brass titles are played by Charles Peterson (Leader of a major Brass Ensemble in the Washington area.)

Students can shorten the longer runs in the arrangement to make it work easily for good High School players.

There is an Orchestra – Wind Ensemble accompaniment (505005ORCH ) and optional Voices, either a full choir or smaller vocal ensemble (or even a solo singer), can be added to the instrumental parts (505001CHOR).
