You won’t believe what you can do with this arrangement.
It was originally performed by the Air Force Chorus, Brass Ensemble, and huge new organ at the dedication of the new Chapel on Bolling Air Force Base in Washington.
It has been published as a choir and orchestra piece. But this woodwind version is equally as exciting.
Any school or church with an orchestral ensemble will be very successful with this.
It features your woodwind players with piano. And all your orchestral percussion players (optional harp). But there are so many ways to create substitutions, you can make this work for all kinds of groups of players.
Just listen to the recording (made by the Finale synthesizer sounds.) You will see what you can do with this big set of parts, perhaps with only a few players.
Flute or Oboe – Parts 1-2
Clarinets, or sub. Flute, Oboe – Parts 3-4
F Horn, or Bb or Eb sub. for the horn part – Part 5
Bass Clarinet or Trombone, Cello sub. for this part – Part 6
Bassoon or any Bass Instrument (Trombone, Celli, etc.) – parts 7-8
3 Percussion lines – 1. Mallets; 2. Snare(opt): 3 Sus. Cym. / Timps (2)
More Percussion lines for optional Marimba. Vibes
Accompaniment lines for Piano, (opt Harp)
There is also a String line you can use for Cello, or other bass clef instrument.
This will work for the instrumental ”Whosoever will come” group of players in most schools or churches. (I don’t have a high school level player (or lower) who can’t cover the part.) But – you can listen to the music, and determine this for yourself. Besides, you get the 80% discount as a member. You need to try this arrangement.
