This arrangement includes 3 different settings of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” (or “God Save the Queen”). Setting 1 matches the traditional harmonies found in most hymnals or community song books, and is in a good key for singing with the instrumental ensembles. Setting # 2 remains in “F” and can be used for singing. The harmonies are new and fresh during this section. The 3rd setting modulates to “Ab” permitting an instrumental section (again with still more new harmonies). An optional repeat returns to the 2nd setting in “F” for possibly more singing, and this leads to a brief coda and a final ending.

 

As with all of these Patriotic Quartets or Quintets, there are 5 different instrumental ensembles of the arrangement. In order to best cover the Woodwind ensemble, there are 7-8 parts to this setting. Parts 1-2-3 are identical to parts 4-5-6 but are an octave higher for Flutes and Oboes.
